For edit sections go to Appearance >> Theme Options >> Sections >> Here you can edit all the sections.
For adding media: In the backend you can see media options on the left panel.

Yes it does resolved since pro version has upto 10 slider images in a separate panel. In free version it has to be added through the customizer with adding pages.
