Precious – No padding and width issue in Firefox & Chrome

I have just installed the Precious Lite Pro theme.

Home page, posts and pages displays fine in IE and Opera and if not in full screen you can resize and all works ok with no width scrollbar

In Firefox and Chrome scrollbars appear and any page padding disappears and the look is terrible.

Also, the page or post-page width exceeds the top div and footer width.
This results in a big white space down the middle of the whole page

I have checked with the Precious demo and the effect seems similar although there are no pages or posts to check
