Adding multiple photos in each galary

My site just went live a few weeks back. I cant seem to be able to add multiple photos into the same photo gallery. Is there a particular plugin I need? This seems like a simple fix.

I want to have 4 different photo categories – each with its own static photo. If you click on a particular category I want that page to open up to a long list of thumbnails. If you click on a particular thumb that will open up that category.

Any help would be appreciated

In our default theme gallery you can add only one picture. You must use the next gen gallery plugin.
