As we have emailed you previously that when you go to Photo Gallery post type there you can see the fields Add title and look at the right bottom you will see the featured image there you can add the image.

You need to go to Settings >> Readings >> Here you can select Latest post option to display the section in homepage also you can go to Appearance >> Theme Options >> Here you will find all the options.
